• Wind Direction for the 48th hour Forecast with Station Names:
  • Phase I Data for Wind Direction: ASCII or S-plus
  • Phase II Data for Wind Direction: ASCII or S-plus

• Data Variables:
  • init.date = Date the forecasts were initiated (ex. 2000011200 = year: 2000; month: 01 (January); time: midnight GMT = 4:00 pm Seattle time).
  • stat.lat = The latitude of the weather stations.
  • stat.lon = The longitude of the weather stations.
  • stat.name = Name of the weather station.
  • stat.type = Type of weather station (ex. ss = a ship at sea).
  • forecast1 = The 48th hour forecast from MM5 based upon one set of initial conditions (AVN).
  • forecast2 = The 48th hour forecast from MM5 based upon a second set of initial conditions (CMCGEM).
  • forecast3 = The 48th hour forecast from MM5 based upon a third set of initial conditions (ETA).
  • forecast4 = The 48th hour forecast from MM5 based upon a fourth set of initial conditions (NGM / MRF).
  • forecast5 = The 48th hour forecast from MM5 based upon a fifth set of initial conditions (NOGAPS).
  • observation = The actual observed data from the weather stations at the 48th hour.
