STAT 592:
Special Topics: Empirical Processes

Winter Quarter 1999

Project Guidlines (last updated: 1/3/99)

Students taking 592 for credit should select a topic for a project with some connection to empirical process theory or methods; see the Project Topics page for some possibilities. Please let me know the title of your project and the papers on which it will be based by Friday, January 15.

The project will consist of a written (10 - 15 pages) paper handed in at the end of the quarter. The project may involve some question in statistics which has been studied (or can be addressed) using empirical process tools or methods, or a purely mathematical aspect of empirical process theory. Your project writeups should emphasize the connection with empirical process theory or methods -- what are the basic empirical process tools being used or developed?
